Commented on by the New Yorker, The Boston Globe and also Boing Boing, among others, this Blackwing 602 has a magnificent core made with the best graphite, soft and firm. This provides the possibility of being able to write using one half of the pressure that would be used with a pencil any, writing and with more clarity and elegance. Has a finish gray bronze next to the small eraser on the top of the pen.

Legendary Grammy, Emmy, Pulitzer and Academy Award winners have created with the Blackwing 602 pencil.

In 2010, Blackwing found a home in the Palomino division of California Cedar Products Company, a leading supplier of wood for pencils. With pencil industry roots dating back to the mid 19th century, CalCedar has built a long tradition of excellence and unique supply relationships that now extend to the Palomino writing, arts and lifestyle products, the most famous of which are its Blackwing pencils.

This beautiful pen is designed for carpenters, musicians or anyone looking for a line that is more gentle and dark with which to draw and continue to perfect lines. This Blackwing is the softer from among the three models that are available. These pencils like the other two models come in packs of 12.

Their cult following included John Steinbeck and Chuck Jones, who proudly used Blackwings to create Bugs Bunny and

many other Looney Tunes characters.

Despite this following, they fell victim to cost cutting measures in the 1990s and were discontinued. But, that didn’t stop devotees from paying as much as $40 per pencil to seize unused stock.

equivalent to 12 pencils. The Blackwing were introduced in the 1930s by Eberhard Faber.
